Postgraduate English for Non-English-majors

The Curricula System is a comprehensive teaching system, which features science, engineering, business, etc. including English for Academic Purposes (Science and Engineering), English for Academic Purposes (Management), English Reading for Academic Purposes, English Writing for Academic Purposes , English Translation for Academic Purposes, International Academic English Exchange and Speech, Business English, Postgraduate Engineering English and Readings, and Western Culture.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) aims to improve students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities, the academic skills of listening to lectures, taking notes, reading academic literature, writing papers, reading papers, participating in academic discussions, etc; and to improve students’ academic literacy as using the internet and library resources to search for information for independent learning and independent research, analyze and synthesize information collected from various channels, evaluate and raise questions, and cultivate innovative thinking and critical thinking. Business English encourages students to master different aspects of business activities and contemporary topics, to have the ability to conduct business communication appropriately in foreign-related work, to handle general business affairs and to engage in international trade affairs.

We adhere to the unity of knowledge and practice, adopting students-oriented learning strategies and classified guidance to serve the scientific innovation research, and facilitate professional knowledge acquisition, the reference to the international academic frontier achievements and improvement of international academic exchange ability. And we will make full use of high-quality online teaching resources, establish an online multi-module independent learning and valuation platform featuring science and engineering for the students to effectively integrate offline traditional classroom teaching with online digital and information-based teaching.
