Business English

Business English, as one of English majors, is subordinate to Foreign Languages and Literature. Its overall positioning is to be based in Chongqing, radiate throughout the whole country, and go to the world. Business English was officially established in 2016, but since 2002 when English (Business English) major was founded, our school has been committed to exploring the education mode of “English + Business”. After 20 years of exploration and construction, we have established a talent cultivation principle of "being English-based, business-oriented, and ability-centered", and formed a scientific and technological feature with both international trade and logistics directions. With our university’s advantages on humanities, economics, management and other related disciplines, we make full use of modern multimedia and network technologies in our university and school such as the Training Center and Language Lab, so as to cultivate applied business English talents who have solid basic English skills, a broad international vision and strong humanistic quality; have a good knowledge of the basic rules and practices of international trade, with strong business English application skills, cross-cultural business communication skills, business practice skills, and critical thinking and innovation ability; are able to engage in jobs related to business English such as trade, management, marketing, translation, research, and teaching in foreign trade and economy, foreign cooperation, international exchange, culture, education and other departments. In recent 3 years, the average annual rate of initial employment among fresh graduates has reached 90%, with a wide range of employment, involving international trade, management, education and other fields; domestic and overseas enrollment rate has reached 16%.
